Let's clear the air: The Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) does not own Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)

The Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) does not have the deed to Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

That’s right, despite popular belief, the BACB didn’t invent ABA any more than Colonel Sanders invented chicken.

While the BACB plays a key role in certifying those brainy behavior wizards, ABA itself is like gravity ... it’s been around, influencing actions long before anyone put a name to it.

The BACB sets the standards, sure, but ABA’s applications stretch far and wide ... from helping kiddos in classrooms to training Fido not to snatch sausages off your plate.

So remember, while the BACB might throw the biggest ABA certification parties, they don’t own the dance moves!
