Determining the Link Between Disability and Behavior: When assessing if a student's behavior is caused by or linked to their disability, the following questions are considered:
Does the disability impair the student’s ability to control their behavior?
Does the disability impair the student’s understanding of the consequences of their behavior?
Manifestation Determination Review: To answer these questions, a manifestation determination review is conducted. This involves a team of professionals who evaluate the relationship between the student's disability and the behavior in question.
